Summit Station
(Halfway House)
Summit Station, also called Halfway House due to its location halfway between Carson City and Virginia City, was an early waystation established in 1860. It was used as a polling location in the 1861 election, and remained an active station until 1866, when increased traffic led to a new station at Mound House.
