"1862" Cave
Little is known or written about this cave, though its walls are adorned with striking red designs left by the ancient Numu, or Paiute people. Of additional interest is a second layer of history, which unfortunately mars the stunning pictographs: pioneer graffiti predating Nevada's statehood. "1862 B.P.D." accompanied by what appears to be stylized initials. A second, and more difficult to read, signature can also be found scrawled along with the year 1906.
