"Wyemaha" Petroglyphs
The "Wyemaha" petroglyph site covers roughly 3 acres, with countless designs spread among numerous basalt boulders. Like other sites in the area, it is believed that this may have been a hunting ground along a natural migratory trail. Northern Paiute collected ricegrass and wildrye here as well, and the place name Wyemaha is in turn derived from the Paiute term for 'ricegrass divide'. There is also some speculation that this site has records of astronomical observation.
