Maggie Blue's
(Mosby's Station)

Around 1905, freighter Robert Mosby established a stop on the road between Tonopah and Manhattan. On April 22, 1907, Mosby shot and killed himself during a drunken fit, leaving his wife and two children to operate the station. About 1909, Scotland native Margaret 'Maggie' Blue took over the station. During World War I, Blue was recognized for her knitting contributions to the Red Cross. Maggie Blue's remained open until 1922 when Blue moved to Tonopah, where she lived the remainder of her life before passing in 1953 at the age of 81. Little more than a wide spot along the road marks the site of Maggie Blue's station today.
