Petroglyph Canyon & Mouse's Tank

Petroglyph Canyon is a ¾ mile round-trip trail through a narrow canyon whose walls are peppered with countless petroglyphs. Most of these are likely Puebloan, dating from 1-1200 CE. The trail ends at Mouse's Tank, a natural basin or 'tinaja' where water collects after rain. The name comes from a Southern Paiute renegade named Little Mouse, who hid out there in the 1890s after he was accused of the murder of two prospectors.
